This week on The Triple Po I speak to my old friend Brandi about her recent run-in with the law regarding drugs, but also how her privilege kept the legal outcome being much worse. Related to that, we talk about failure that is the War on Drugs and the racist and inadequate laws used to try to enforce the war. Oh, and we talk about how Trump sucks, which is low hanging fruit nowadays! It was a great conversation and it was great to talk to Brandi again after a couple of years.

This week on the Triple Po, I am joined by friend and frequent guest Jeanne Ikerd. We talk about a nurses’s strike taking place in her home town in Vermont. We also talk about there now only being one Blockbuster left in the country (in Bend, OR, of all places!), as well Kylie Jenner’s starting a gofundme to make her a billionaire. We also talk about the protests in London over Trump and the big orange Trump baby blimp! Of course, there are also digressions and general shenanigans as is normal whenever Jeanne comes in. Come on in and lend your ears!

I flew solo this week as I didn’t have a guest. The biggest thing that happened was that I got SIX new patrons! I have to say that I’m truly humbled. They are Nathan Dickey, host of A Leap of Doubt Podcast and Trolling with Logic; my good friend Jeanne Ikerd; long-time listener and quizmaster extraordinaire Susan Turpin; blogger and faithful listener Kim Perkins; one-time guest and my brother from another mother Kevin Watson; and my first $10 patron, Rob Schreck! That means he gets a t-shirt! I thank y’all so much for your support. It really means a lot.
The show is me talking about the immigration fiasco occurring on the border, and the evil influence of the Trump administration as well as that modern-day Gestapo ICE. I lay out the whole situation as well as the back story behind it. I then offer up my predictions as to what will happen. Let’s just say the picture ain’t rosy. I also talk about some stories where Trump lackeys get some karma dished in their direction, which is always welcome news to my mind.
I also discovered a new show, Kevin and Benedict, a show of which I recently became a patron. They do two shows, the main one is This Week In News, and then there is This Week In History. They are both great shows, and I encourage you to check them out. Enjoy!

After a three-month hiatus, The Triple Po had returned! I had to take a step back and take care of my mental health, but I’m raring to go again!
The format of the show is different now as well. I am going to be doing the show live from the YouTube channel and then releasing the audio as the regular podcast. The schedule is also changing to twice a month. The show will be live on Saturdays at 7 PM Central, unless it conflicts with Atheists at the Pub in which case it will be Friday at 7 PM Central. The podcast will be released by Monday morning after the live show.
I talked a bit about the hiatus as well as a friend’s experience with sexual assault as well as Pride Month. After some technical difficulties (which is par for the course with these two!), I talked to Amy and Nadya from the Ginger Snaps. We talk about those same issues, but also there’s also a lot of great conversation with friends. I want to thank y’all who have stuck around with me through the hiatus as well as the 4 patrons that stayed on. That means a lot, and I appreciate the support. I hope y’all will like the new format. I think it’s more dynamic and also I don’t have to fucking edit!
Watch Part 1 Part 2 (I had technical issues so I had to restart with another feed).
The Podunk Polymath Podcast is back yet again for your entertainment. On the pre-ramble this week I talk a bit about NaNoCon and Secular Social Justice conferences. I then rant a bit about food boxes, students loans, and accessibility for the disabled.
On the palaver, I speak with Keith and Jen from the newly revamped Not Another Atheist Podcast. We talk about their relaunch and NaNoCon. But mostly there was a just a bunch of pointless rambling. Although it was mostly just us shooting the shit, it is a bit of a break from the weightier subjects that we here everyday on the news. I hope y’all enjoy this brief respite from our descent to Armageddon.

Welcome back to The Podunk Polymath Podcast! This week on the pre-ramble I talk about two upcoming conferences I am attending : NaNoCon and Secular Social Justice. NaNoCon is March 17th in Nashville at Glencliff High School. Tickets are $15 until March 1st and $20 thereafter. I will be on the podcasters panel again this year, so that’s even more of an incentive to attend. Secular Social Justice is in Washington, DC at the All Souls Unitarian Church. The cost of that one is $25. I hope to see y’all at one or both conferences!
On the palaver I speak with Ingrid from Chicago, a trans woman who has been unhoused in the past and may soon be again. We talk about how she became unhoused, her experiences, her struggles, and her hopes. She is looking at the possibility of being unhoused again in the near future, but I hope things will change and that this will not happen. It is a difficult but important discussion, mostly because it seems that being unhoused is an issue that too many people try ignore, I think mainly because we are told that being unhoused is shameful but also people are afraid that they may be in that situation one day. I hope y’all gain some insight from this. I know I did.

Another installment of the Triple Po is upon us. In the pre-ramble I speak briefly about Trump’s State of the Union speech, and how there’s no way I’m watching the Orange Overlord spew his noxious bullshit. I then talk about how I have become involved with Atheist Alliance Helping the Homeless Nashville, an organization I found out about only last week. I plan on helping by doing to the once monthly giveaways, as well as promoting on the newly created Twitter account, along with the show’s social media. On top of all of this, one of the organizers who I met up with to give a clothing donation to, John Boughner, became a patron at the $5 level! How awesome is that? I also read a new iTunes review from friend of the show and fellow podcaster Cory Johnston.
On the palaver, I speak to newly acquired Facebook friend Rick Manuel. We talked about his previous job asking for and giving grants for the city of Lafayette, LA. We also went off tangents about teachers, charter schools, libraries, and how much Trump sucks, as well as sundry other interesting topics. This was definitely a wide-ranging and entertaining discussion with a really great guy. I hope y’all enjoy it!

Hey y’all, it’s time for The Triple Po! On the pre-ramble I talk about the government shutdown. There is one senator who gives no fucks and tells Trump just what she thinks of his view of the military.
On the palaver, I speak to Rob Ray. He is co-host, along with his wife, of Secular Yakking, which is sadly being retired. However, there is a silver lining, because it gives him more time to work on his real passion, The Original Motto Project. The goal the organization is to promote E Pluribus Unum, the original national motto, which ‘promotes the truly inclusive nature of American society’. We talk about the project’s origins, mission statement, wins, losses, and what the future holds for the project, which includes a reinvigorated effort to make a real difference in getting the word out. Rob is a passionate guy, and by the end of the conversation you might even be motivated to volunteer!
