TPPP Episode 18 : Social Justice with Sincere

Greetings, and welcome to another episode your mother told you not to listen to, The Podunk Polymath Podcast! This week on the pre-ramble, I talk about the news that a CIA report has confirmed that Russia was complicit in hacking the Clinton emails and releasing them to Wikileaks, and how Obama has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter. I express my fear of the outcome, and what can be done if the election is shown to be compromised. I also talk about a great book I read “The PC Lie : How American Voters Decided I Didn’t Matter” by Marissa McCool. It is a stinging indictment of those who voted for Trump and how she fears for her very existence as a transgender woman, as well as other topics, such as what we can do to stand up for those who are most vulnerable to the policies that will be enacted by the Trump administration. Finally, I introduce a song composed and performed by two-time guest and friend of the show Matthew O’Neil named “Atheistmas”, and I play it during the break! I think y’all will really enjoy it!

On the palaver I speak with Social Justice Coordinator for American Humanist Association, blogger, activist, and one of my favorite writers Sincere Kirabo. We talk about social justice, humanism, his involvement at the DAPL protest camp, as well as how we met at a conference in East Tennessee and how I took him to his first Sonic! Sincere is an extremely passionate advocate for social justice and humanism, and I was honored to have him on the show. Thank y’all for listening, and I hope you enjoy the show!

TPPP Episode 11 : Rebel With A Bible

On this episode of The Podunk Polymath Podcast, I have a guest co-host for the pre-ramble this week, my good friend Eric Parsons. We talk about the final Presidential debate and how thankful we will be when the damn election is over!

For the palaver, I have author, student, musician, and tattooed badass Matthew O’Neil. We talk about his writing, his scholarly pursuits, and what it’s like being a humanist chaplain. It’s a very informative and occasionally hilarious interview. I hope y’all enjoy the latest awesome installment of the PoPoPo!

TPPP Episode 10 : Let’s Get Biskeptical

Welcome to another action-packed episode of The Podunk Polymath Podcast! This week I kick things off with a pre-ramble about a recently read book and how it has affected my thoughts on Hillary and Trump.

On the palaver, I speak to the dynamic duo from The Biskeptical Podcast, Trav Mamone and Morgan Stringer. We talk about their podcast; what subjects they’ve covered; and the struggles of Bi individuals have being recognized as a legitimate part of the LGBT movement. There was a lot of laughing, as well as discussion of serious topics. I hope y’all enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording it!

TPPP Episode 9 : Local Hero

On this week’s episode of The Triple-Po, I start off with a triple threat pre-ramble. First, I talk about Trump’s odious taped utterances regarding power and sexual assault, but I also wonder if people realize that Slick Willy isn’t exactly a friend to the female gender, and he will in all likelihood actually be in the White House. I then give my thoughts on both the first Presidential Debate and the Vice Presidential Debate, both of which are fairly short and sweet.

For the palaver, I spoke with local transgender activist Carla Lewis. We talked about how she became an activist; her brief stint in the military; and her love of sci-fi and fantasy, among many other things. Did I mention she has a stand up arcade version of Galaga? Anyway, we had a great conversation, and I hope to meet her soon, because she seems like a cool person to hang out with! I hope you enjoy the latest installment, and remember to leave a review on iTunes if you get the hankering.

TPPP Episode 4 : Not Another Political Podcast

This week on The Podunk Polymath Podcast, I announce that was on The Brainstorm Podcast and most likely made a complete fool out of myself. Next, a pre-ramble regarding the ongoing saga of White butthurt regarding Colin Kaepernick, and a meeting that altered his stance somewhat, both figuratively and literally. As a last-minute addendum, I talk about a protest that is not getting much press coverage against a pipeline being a built through North Dakota and nearby states by Native American tribes. The company has set dogs and pepper sprayed protesters, and the pipeline itself is dangerous and is a recipe for disaster.

For the palaver I have the bi-national duo from Not Another Atheist Podcast, Jen and Keith. We talk about Hillary and her strengths and weaknesses as a candidate. Of course, there is Jen’s trademark New York-accented tirades and Keith’s almost total lack of contribution to the conversation. It’s a funny, cringe-inducing, and occasionally insightful conversation that’s sure to at least make y’all shake your head in disbelief. I hope y’all enjoy this episode of The Triple-Po!
